Morning song – 2001
Following the curve of the hills
valley and mountain peaks
down on the river’s edge
amid the slender grass
birds nest and flowers bloom
perennial … in the marsh.
Echoes of it’s beauty
bear joy for I and life.

Poem in color
I like blue… it reminds me of you
Yellow is optimistic , cheerful too
green, the sea of grass I see
open fields ..calling me
White as clouds on a windy day
over tree tops and earthy hills
red, tender petals at play
opening in the morning still
gray .. the winter blues
gold .. in morning hues
umber, tints the horizon
I think of you….and sigh…

Autumn song
Who paints the sky… for you and I
Why do stars never tire to look at us
Who choose the colors of the fall
the shapes of the leaves, so small
so big , the flowers and their scent
Who choose the color of the clouds
of all the things we see and…why
they are beautiful , to you and I.
So… why say good bye ?

Blue night in gentle hues
moon rising quietly
unfolding in the dark
the splendor of the night.
*******************************
Dawn… gentle lines
grace dividing space
sun colored skies
reflecting in the sea.
Beauty such as this
my eyes have never seen.
The day after 9 -11
I have a guest tonight and the ceiling is off the floor,
a noisy cricket who ‘s call I hear near my door.
The town is quiet and the road to City Hall is guarded
by many flags along the way down to the river.
Tomorrow at dawn, I will ride through town
to go watch the mist rising from the water.
