A Sufi story
The Master or a Mulla in Persian was questioned by a man as he looked for a lost key of his treasure outside his home, yet being questioned by a passer by who offered to help finding it, replied the key was lost inside the home.
Why look outside then? The man asked. The Mulla said because it is light here and dark in the home…I cannot see. A bystander reasoned about bringing light within the house and look for the key.
Mulla laughed; Indeed it is the simple question and simple answer which brings illumination” he said. So it is your inner life, I have seen you search on the outside but as you have learned here today, what you are seeking is not lost without, it has always been within.
Why then seek bliss in the outside world? Have you lost it there?
Would I dream of you once more ask the soul to the wind?
I have seen the beauty of a star filled night…and heard music that moved my soul… joy filled the infinite space… I become the morning star, covered in silver light, transformed and bejeweled in the firmament.
My home is infinite… sounds have colors and music is of the soul as light is of the sun.
I am the expression of love, refracted and reflected in infinite space, natural abode of stars…the wave particle, the fabric of the universe pervades the mind just as wind abides in the air never to be seen by the eye. Nature and I are one, a soul abiding in all living things and every particle seen and unseen the wind has carried through me and left a trace of star dust in my soul.
We awake in the morning hour,
a golden shadow on the wall…
Objects outlined in the penumbra
a story unfolding in the mind…
Consciousness, joy or pending doom
the eye moves in inner space.
The soul’s naked, vulnerable, aware
but for the spark of hope that lights
the kinder space…
Finds its connection its birthplace
It overcomes the world, its ills or fears
It knows its destiny of infinite, eternal
Knowing, of peace and void of tears.
